Hajj 2026 has been completed, but its package structure remains the best reference for anyone comparing Hajj packages from Pakistan. Here is how the government and private schemes worked, and what has changed for 2027.
Government Hajj Scheme 2026 Pakistan
Pakistan’s 2026 quota was 179,210 pilgrims: 119,210 under the government scheme and 60,000 under the private scheme. Government applicants chose between a long package of 38 to 42 days and a short package of 20 to 25 days, with estimated costs of Rs1.15 million to Rs1.25 million.
Payment was made in two instalments. Long package pilgrims paid Rs500,000 first and Rs650,000 second, while short package pilgrims paid Rs550,000 and then Rs650,000. Reported figures show 77,743 pilgrims chose the long package and 41,467 the short one.
Private Hajj Packages Pakistan 2026
Private Hajj operators set their own prices within ministry rules. Package costs for 2026 reportedly ranged from about Rs1.2 million to Rs4 million, depending on hotel distance, services and duration. Comparing Makkah and Madinah accommodation, flights and transport is essential before booking.
Hajj Package Price in Pakistan: What Changed for 2027
For Hajj 2027, Pakistan approved its first multi-year Hajj policy covering 2027 to 2030. The quota remains 179,210, now split 60 percent for the government scheme (107,526) and 40 percent for private operators (71,684). The government package is Rs1.2 million for the roughly 40-day long Hajj and Rs1.3 million for the short Hajj.
Applications opened on 18 August through the Pak Hajj app, the online portal and designated bank branches, with half the cost due at application. Only pre-registered applicants could apply, and reports said the government scheme was nearly full within days, so check the Ministry of Religious Affairs for current availability. Private scheme applications are now handled under government supervision, with packages from authorized Hajj organizers visible on the official portal.
Hajj Registration, Visa and Flights
Intending pilgrims need a valid machine-readable passport, in 2027 valid until at least 16 November 2027, and should register through the official system. The Hajj visa is arranged through the official process rather than by individuals. Hajj flights depart from major cities such as Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad, with schedules set by the ministry. Overseas Pakistanis can also apply, and Pakistan Origin Card holders now have a small reserved share of the quota.
Tips Before Choosing a Hajj Travel Package
Use only ministry-authorized operators, ask for written details of accommodation and transport, and avoid paying cash to unofficial agents. Always confirm current prices on official sources, as fees and deadlines change each year.
